Second Green AI Summit at Harvard and Boston University Successfully Convened
Location: Harvard University and Boston University
Date: April 25th-April 26th, 2025
The Green AI Summit, hosted by Harvard Undergraduate AI and Sustainability Group, co-sponsored by Boston University Center for Information and Systems Engineering (CISE), brings together global leaders, researchers, and innovators to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence and sustainability. As AI technology continues to shape the world, the Green AI Summit serves as a critical platform to address the environmental and social impacts of these advancements and to champion responsible development practices.
With AI rapidly becoming a transformative force across industries, its environmental footprint—from data center emissions to energy-intensive model training—requires urgent attention. The Green AI Summit tackles these challenges head-on by fostering discussions on green technology innovations, policy frameworks, and collaborative strategies for sustainable AI. Attendees will engage in dialogues around topics such as green computing, climate impact assessment, ethical AI deployment, and the role of AI in addressing global sustainability goals.
The summit features a series of keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive workshops led by industry experts, academic leaders, and policymakers. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with thought leaders and gain insights into emerging trends at the forefront of AI and sustainability. The event also highlights groundbreaking research, case studies, and real-world applications of AI in mitigating climate change and enhancing sustainable practices.
A key element of the summit is its focus on translating ideas into actionable outcomes. Through interdisciplinary collaborations, networking opportunities, and a student competition—Sustainable Development Leadership Challenge (SDLC)—the summit aims to inspire a new generation of leaders committed to advancing the twin goals of technological innovation and environmental stewardship.
Join us at the Green AI Summit to be part of a transformative movement that redefines the role of artificial intelligence in a sustainable future.
